The @BritishEcolSoc + @EarthWatch_Org Hackathon on Freshwater + #CitizenScience

We love a good Hackathon and the British Ecological Society is running this event for PhD students and early/mid career researchers from 25-27 May.. The overview looks great and resonates with what we're doing in our module on Citizen Science in our new MSc. 

Running a research hackathon is a fantastic concept and the BES note that it can sometimes lead into published work. We've been keen to foster new ways of getting research done and, in 2016, we hosted our first Book Sprint, which led to the publication of a new book on the science of light and colour. So, we can really vouch for this kind of format!
