PROFESSOR URSULA HURLEY - Inaugural Lecture

Professor Ursula Hurley is a widely published, award-winning creative writer with an international profile in applied research and socially engaged practice. Her application of creative methodologies to digital technology in community and commercial settings has led to significant impact and research outputs. This talk shows how we can fling open the doors of the writer’s study and invite everyone into a creative space. Using images from poetic 3D printing, and a beautiful graphic novel about Peel Park, Ursula will explain how her creative techniques enable diverse participants to develop a shared vision and then make it happen. We will look at how approaches drawn from innovative and experimental writing can help to democratize and simplify the creative process, ensuring that every voice is heard, and no idea is lost
