Enter FameLab UK Now!
The FameLab competition is now receiving entries, so if you'd like to try your hand at being a science communicator, then you can sign up now. The University of Salford is very involved with the North West competition and will help deliver training for applicants, and Dr Gemma Lace-Costigan will take part in the judging.
The training is being provided by our very own Dr Erinma Ochu and takes place at the Museum of Science and Industry on the afternoon of 25th January. To be eligible, you need to sign up at the FameLab website, which is HERE.
Even if you don't go forward to compete, the training can be incredibly useful to develop your confidence in presenting, so it's well worth considering. As well, taking part in the regional heats on the 1st February at the Museum will be incredible CV experience.
So, if you'd like to have a go, sign up and let us know. Here's a quick look at the UK finals last year. In the past, our own Professor Trevor Cox has been a finalist in FameLab, as has our Science Communicator in Residence Dr Marieke Navin, so there is a long tradition of involvement here!
Entrants must be 21 years old or older, studying or working in science, engineering, technology, medicine or mathematics.
