Public Engagement Strategy event

As part of a 2 day workshop for Wellcome Research Centres from around the country, MSc student, Michaela Parnell presented her Hidradenitis suppurativa advocacy work, which was shared on her communities’ stall and archiving on Figshare at the Community Science Showcase at The Manchester Science Festival in October 2018.

Michaela joined her lecturer, Dr Erinma Ochu, who curated the session to include creative practitioners with a social or environmental mission embedded in their work to inspire and enthuse Wellcome Centre staff as they develop their public engagement strategies. They were Jerwood/ MIF fellow, Caroline Ward, inTer-aCtive artist, Maya Chowdhry and performer, actor and storytelling, Emmanuel Bajiiji.

The event took place at The University of Manchester Incubator Centre, UMIC.
